I Am I All Day Everyday!

I’m a senior in high school and a bit of a wallflower. I see a lot of things, and one thing I have noticed is kids of our generation are rude. They cut you off in the hallways and step in front of you as though you’re not even there.
Today in one of my classes we went to library to use the computers. I was about to put my bag down to use a computer when this girl came stepped in front of me an took the computer I was going to use so that she could sit next to her friend. I was extremely mad, but because I’m quiet and not one to attract attention I said nothing. I regret my decision.
Something has to be done about the rude people of our generation. If someone is rude to you tell them, stand up for yourself. Learn from my mistake.

Today in my government class my teacher told us about that story a few years ago about the person who jumped into the tracks of the subway to save the life of a complete stranger who was in the tracks in NYC. We were talking about bullying and how it is just as bad to be a bystander and do nothing as being the actual bully. This really got me thinking, it’s amazing how few people would go out of their way to help a stranger in need of help whether it be they are in the subway tracks, need medical attention, or are a pair of 5th graders fighting.

I then went to thinking… “if I witnessed someone stuck in the subway would I help them?” My answer, it’s a slim chance, I’m generally a quiet person and I don’t like to be the center of attention.

Now I’m curious what would you do?
